Hello,

I would like to know opinions about Cooler Masters RS450-ACLY PSU.
How is it?

Is it at par with Antec?

And should I buy its sibling RS450-ACLX or RS450-ACLY only?

Rgds,

The CM Real Power series are good quality, I would say it is on par with the Antec truepower series (while CM extreme power units are not - I will choose an Antec smartpower over those)

For me, choice is more about the price - Antec TP-II 480 can be usually found for the same price as the RS450 and have more watts to boot.
However there is one exception I found off pricegrabber:

COOLER MASTER Real Power RS-450-ACLY 450w $52 shipped @ buypc

So that brings it to the proper bang-per-buck, cheaper than TPII-480. If you get the RS450-ALCY at all, get it there and enjoy the blue LED and wattmeter.

Check out jonnyguru's review of the CM RS-550 it is the RS450's big brother.

hmm, yea that is a good point:

Antec SP-450 $60 shipped @ buy.com
which has similar specs, but you lose the lighted 120mm and the wattmeter (if that matters or not is questionable) only $8 more

Antec TPII-430 $64 shipped @ ewiz
you lose the lighted 120mm but get a bit more in the +12v for $12 more

guess depends on how thin the wallet is  the TPII-430 looks nice, have not used it yet. Always seem to use the FSP 450, then jump to the TPII-480 and 550. If the RS450 was anything over $70 (usually is) I would say piss on it.

and dude, cool sig - "retard hater" that is awesome!!

thanks.

also yah look at forton source not as good as antec but still good they are cheaper so if ur on a budget FSP/Forton Source or Sparkle PSU's may be what u need.

Fortron Source is better than Antec. Going way back around 3 years ago, an FSP-350 could put out around 420W peak, whereas an Ante True Power 380W could only output around 410W peak. Their rating systems remain to this day.

I dunno Antec delivers a wider range of PSU's Forton kinda jumps from 50 bucks to higher end.

Im saying Forton has no "middle" ground, there are their top of the line Quad Rail PSU's and then the others

Get the RS450-ACLY,it about the best PS you can get for your AMD system. I got one for my Opty165 with X1600XT, voltage tolerance is just amazing: 1.30v Vcore, 3.30v, 5.00 and 12.01v!!. Only the 12v rail is within 1% variance, the rest are plain perfect!. Under load or not, none of the other voltages even twitches!. I have Antec TruePower 380S which is nice but the CM walks all over it!.

well. lets see the CM has more watts the the 380w truepower, wonder why it walks all over it, also the truepower maybe be pretty danm old too. i dunno doesnt seen fair to compare.

2nd you are not running a power hungry system. so
