OK... we know that Woodcrest will have a 1333 FSB, using two buses (similar to the old Alpha EV6 arrangement)

Is this 2 buses each at 1333 mhz, or 2 buses at 666 mhz => 1333 mhz combined.

Please post links if you have them!

Thanks!

PS - AMDs "Hypertransport" is essentially the Alpha EV7 bus, Intel has adopted the Alpha EV6 Bus, why did we kill off the Alpha again..?

Intel uses a quad pumped FSB so it's 333X4.

Blackford MCH supports dual FSB operating at 1333MHz

Thanks!

actually, alpha wont be dead until 2011, hp still sells systems with alpha processors, although the production went from dec to samsung i think. alpha really went the same direction as most risc designs, from the top to mediocre. as for the woodcrest bus, there are two 1333mhz quad pumped buses.

I think just 333MHz quad pumped bus only......

That is correct.

no, theres two buses on woodcrest... its been known for a while. bentley already has dual fsbs. actionman, for your intel fanboy status, im surprised you dont know this...

Sigh. He was correcting the fact that you said 1333mhz quad pumped. He didn't no there isn't two there is only one.

Actually the 2 FSB's are on the Chipset, not on the processor, and they both run each @ 1333Mhz, 1 per processor

and the name of the platform is BENSLEY, the name of the actual chipset is BLACKFORD

Just offering some clarification

wow you hurt me so much by rating my post bad  i know its not 1333 four times, but it is a bus that is quad pumped running at 1333, way to nitpick...
June 3, 2006 2:53:58 AM

Sigh, notice how I didn't actually nitpick, I just confirmed it. So calm down and STFU.

Like I said, calm down and get over it.
June 3, 2006 3:55:13 AM

Really? Well there were a lot of noobs around then and things were pretty ugly.
June 3, 2006 4:01:50 AM

Oh well, I was getting pretty over it by the end.

Also I had just returned too and the AM2 benchmarks from Toms really got things going.
