it's dual channel memory but im not sure if my mobo supports it ( asus k8n mobo). Im new to purchasing ram hence the reasoning behind me coming to ask before i buy. Just wanted to know if it was compatible with the board because it doesn't mention dual channel in my user guide..

Your motherboard supports dual channel. Thus the compatability with DDR (Double Data Rate) memory.
Dual channel mode only works when 2 sticks of the same size and speed RAM are present. I am not to familiar with the 3 slot configuration on AMD boards.
Currently, I'm assume you only have 1 stick of RAM, so when you add the new RAM you may still run in single channel mode.

The RAM will work fine in your computer and it's good RAM too.
