I am thinking of getting a laptop Voodoo or Falcon Northwest. I would like to know the pros and cons of the Turion 44 vs the FX 60 and the graphic cards that come with it.
One comes with a Turion ML 44 and two 7800GTX. The other comes with an FX60 and a Go 7900 GTX.

Both companies say that they are upgradeable in the future.
Now the questions:

1. Which is a better laptop for gaming based on the CPU and graphics card?

2. Which one has a better upgradeable future?

3. Which is an overall better computer in terms of over all performance?

I understand that there are two different approaches. One with a mobile CPU and two desktop graphics card. The other with a desktop CPU and one mobile graphic card. Which is more preferred?

Thank you for all advices in advance.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
Well, I'll go all the way with the FX-60 not only for gaming but for every thing since it's a desktop replacement laptop, but if you are concerned about battery life and better portability, then go with the Turion processor.

Thank you for the warm welcome and the reply.

I am not worried about the battery since I am assuming that it's not going to run any games on a battery (Even my dell won't run a game like Battlefield 1942 properly without a power outlet) I am assuming that running anything south of a word processor or balance sheet isn't going to take off on any portable with a decent processor. And portability isn't much of a question since it will be stationary most of the time.

Anyway thank you for the reply. Much appreciated.

Imagine the battery life of a desktop FX60 with a Go 7900GTX under 100% load. 8O

I honestly don't think it runs properly. I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 with a mobility 9800 and P4 3.4E and it won't run under correctly with any FPS game unless I'm plugged in. I am probably getting less than 15 FPS and the battery runs for less than 40 minutes. (more like 27 to 30).

Get the Turion. You can always just Stick in the FX-60 Later OMG!! a SLI nice  Worth 2 FX in the Pocket

Neither one will be able to be upgraded, unless the fx-60 is an am2, the turion is a s754 processor, and the best one available for it since the turion x2 is based on socket s and the fx-60 is the fastest s939 is going to see. So if your looking for the best performer it would be the fx-60, since it has a higher clock speed and dual core.

If battery life is a concern, Turion is better.
