Recently purchased Windows 7 Ultimate and I seem to be having some trouble installing. Seems like every time I get to the install setup part (blue screen with the sky part) it just seems to hang there for a very long time. I can move my cursor around while it just sits there so I don't think its locked up. I've read a few threads about letting it sit there and wait for the pop up to come out (which I did, took about 20 mins) and finally installed it. My question is why does this happen?
I'm not really sure why it happens. We seem to have similar set ups to a degree and yet on mine it popped up within 30 seconds. Heck, it popped up on my laptop within a minute or so. My guess is that it has to do with if you are doing an upgrade or a clean install. The upgrade probably takes longer due to various reasons, i.e. files have to be brought up from the old OS, while the clean install can unpack without "anything in the way."

I know this may sound like a strange idea, but have you considered seeking a BIOS update? The newest BIOS available for the P5KC is 1203. Check your BIOS and flash it if it's out of date. I've had BIOS updates fix all kinds of strange problems.
