I just bought an Audigy2 ZS, plugged it in .. windows detected it has a pci card and everything.. installed the drivers and the software from the cd.. but I don't hear any sound!!!!

I tried every single hole on the card to see if sound was coming out from any of them and it doesn't... even the mic doesn't record

my onboard card still works (if I change the playback and recording option from windows)

is there something I did wrong?

More about : audigy2 problem

Maybe the sound is muted?

If not, go back to the store, and replace it with another one.

Did you disable the onboard sound in the BIOS?

Yes, i think you have to disable your Onboard card.

Actually, the onboard sound can oft co-exist with add-on audio (YMMV).

At that point, it's a matter of telling Windows which sound device to use, assuming the driver CD doesn't do it for you.

If the on-board sound is enabled, you can manually select an output device within the control panel.

The easiest way, however, is to do what these guys said, and simply disable your on-board audio device.

I always disable on board audio just to be safe.

When i bought it and put it in pci and insert the installation cd i said to myself what is this some kind of ufo ship drivers.

When i set it for first time it didnt work too.

Uninstal drivers and then find only driver with no extra software and such.

If that doesent work download driver from creative page.

My question is do you have digital or analog speakers hooked up? If you have analog speakers hooked up make sure the "Digital Output Only" boxes are unchecked in the speaker settings in your creative audio tools. Also make sure in the THX setup console that the "analog output" is selected. It's worth a shot before reinstalling drivers and doing alot of work.
