Am2 athlon 4000+ overclock

I have a little question, i am going to buy an amd am2 x2 4000+ or a amd x2 4200+. (I will wait till the price drops when conroe is there).
The 4000+ has 2x1MB cache and the 4200+ is 200Mhz faster but has less cache.
Is it possible to overclock the 4000+ for 200Mhz and would I get the performance of a 4400 then since it has the same Clockspeed and Cache?

Also, when do u think amd prices wil drop?

Sorry for my crappy english :-)

It have been shown a popssibility to to overclock AM2 4000+ to 2.67GHz and higher on air.
Somebody showed the link already. Although I can not find it right now.

My socket 939 3800 X2 overclocks from 2GHz to 2.7GHz at 1.3375V. It may well be different with AM2 but traditionally there's alot of wiggle room with the lower end AMD64 processors.

Ok i'll better go for the extra cache of the 4000+ and OC it till the clockspeed of the 4200+ (and get the specs of a 4400+ :-) )

Thx guys :-)

That is the smart thing to do; don't waste your money on a high-end part when you can overclock the low-end part to perform BETTER than the high-end part.
