Some new GF GC advertise "Turbo Cashe.

They have lower onboard memory ie. 64mb but say they can use the onboard memory in Turbo Cashe mode.

I thought all cards could use the onboard memory if the cards memory was full, ie. AGP/PCI aperture size?

Turbocache allows for 'shared memory' from system RAM, dedicated to the videocard and nothing else.

AGP aperture is often misunderstood to be shared memory, but it's not. It refers to the system's ability to quickly access system RAM for texture storage, it is not dedicated memory. If it's not needed then system RAM is not impacted, unlike turbocache/hypermemory.
