Vodaphone Australia USB problems

I just got a Vodaphone USB Pre-paid modem, I had to download the latest drives from the Vodaphone website for Windows 7. I installed the drivers first successfully and rebooted. I then inserted the USB stick. the USB stick was noticed straight away. as i opened the Vodaphone connect software it all looked good. But i cannot connect to there network. I have tried the USB stick on a Windows Vista Laptop and it worked fine. I also tried it on another Windows 7 Ultimate PC that had nothing on it other then windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. I had the same problem on that computer. Has anyone had any problems like this? I contacted Vodaphone and they cannot help me. the only idea they had was to download the new driver from their website, I have allready done that.

How did you try connecting to the network through Windows 7? Did you use the utility that the stick pre-installed, or is connecting OTA handled through Windows 7's network management software?
