Hi,

I'm curently looking to replace my old AGP ATI Radeon AIW 9800 pro, by a new PCIE one. But, I'm on a budget and I don't know wich one is really better, I'm interested by pixel shader 3, but I can't afford a 500$ video card, as I also have to change my AGP MB to a PCIE one.

I'm running cad/cam programs, as well as lot of games and I want to drive, as much as possible, the graphic level to the top. I also liked the AIW in the 9800, but I think to only buy a TV tuner apart.

My choices are:
Sapphire PCIE Rad X850XT
Sapphire PCIE X1800GTO
ATI AIW X800XL

Any other proposition could be interesting.

Since my computer is located at about 4 feet from my bed, I would like to have a very effective et silent cooler, so which is the best one available??

Thanks

For your price range, IMO the only (edit) three cards you should be considering are;

X1800GTO & X1900GT

and

GF7600GT.

Best bang/buck, and perfect for a new build.

The X800s are getting old, and those three cards will beat them in most if not all situations.

How much CAD/CAM and gaming are u thinking of doing?

I do several cad/cam projects, around 10-15 hours a week at least, for my own or for my studies and I do play game for at least 20 hours a week and I really search for great graphics and stability first.

If you want to spend $120 + shipping i will get rid off my 7800GT you can unlock some Pro settings to make it work faster for you CAD/CAM needs.

I bought a X1900XTX so my 6 month old 7800 is in a very pretty pink ESD free bag.

It's from XFX

Your deal sounds great but i'm more interested in ATI card with the pixel shader 3 and OpenGL. Bu when you talk about settings for pro, what will you do?? Do this lower game graphics level?? Do you bypass som circuit by some welding or something like that??
