A8N-E - Problems with RAID

I have an ASUS A8N-E with two x 250 gig Maxtor sata drives mirrored for data protection.

I have had to several times rebuild the array as the motherboard seems to keep "losing" one of the harddrives - it is even lost in the BIOS... have to reset the bios to get it redetect the drive.

I have checked the obvious - both harddrives test out fine, I've swapped out and verified the sata cables, etc..

Help!

Check this out. There are some problems with maxtor discs.
