My GPU is a Quadro FX540 with a DVI port. My HDTV is a 30' sony with a HDMI input. Can I connect my computer to my HDTV with some kind of cable. There are different kinds of DVI cable, so how do I know which one to get?

Will this be safe to do? I notice that some HDTVs have VGA computer inputs but some dont. Why is this? Since mine dosnt have a computer input does that mean they dont want you to do it for some reason becasue it will not be safe?

Just wondering.

most decent electronics stores should sell dvi to hdmi adapters, should be from 10-20 bucks, I've seen some for over 30 though. I get them for 5 a piece, nice to have special contacts :)
