My computer is almost done. I just need to figure out which PSU to use.

Enermax EG565P 535 PSU

AMD Athlon™64 X2 4400+ Dual-Core
2048 MB (1GBx2) PC3200 400MHz Dual Channel
NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GT 256MB
(Sckt939)EVGA nForce4 SLI

or could I run that with:

NZXT PF-500 500 Watt Power Supply. I could save about $30 with this and buy a Saitek keyboard. I might upgrade in like 2 years(my graphic card) but thats it. Can it run 3 years, no OC fine?

Either of those will do

eXtreme PSU calc[/url]"]System Type: Single Processor
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ 2200 MHz 1.35v -(110 Watts)
CPU Utilization (TDP): 100% TDP

RAM: 2 Sticks DDR SDRAM
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GT
Video Type: Single Card

SATA HDD: 1 HDD

DVD-RW/DVD+RW Drive: 1 Drive

Sound Blaster - All Models: Yes

Fans
Regular: 1 Fan 80mm; 1 Fan 120mm;

Motherboard, keyboard and mouse: Yes

PSU Utilization: 100% (peak utilization)

Total: 283 Watts

You can even get a cheaper one like this:
COOLER MASTER Real Power RS-450-ACLY 450w $52 shipped @ buypc
Which is a high-quality unit - and still have quite a bit of headroom to upgrade...

You sure that would work. It doesnt just matter about the watts. a lot of people said not to trust that brand because they arnt well known.

one sure is for sure my friend ...you won`t get wrong if you buy enermax psu...that`s a beast....

theoretically both could run that sistem ...but i would go for enermax.....

make sure they have at least pfc pasive......if you don`t plan OC is better to have dual rail on 12Volt rail........

good luck to you all

I would go for this fortron.....

FSP makes some of the best PSU's. And they also rebrand their PSU's for other companies like PC power and cooling, and possibly even seasonic.... there are many others, but those are the only two I can remember at the moment. Just look at the ratings of the PSU's on newegg or other sites, Fortron tends to be the best. This one in particular would be more than adequate for your system. It have over 30amps on the 12v rails and is 450W.

probably, your system will work fine with just a 350W PSU so there's no doubt will work with that Enermax, which is a very good PSU (maybe a little expensive) .

Ok, well just to be sure. I would rather be able to use NZXT PF-500 500 Watt Power Supply because it will save me $45 which I could put to a better mobo. So it should have no problem? I will say I doubt I will ever overclock, maybe just the CPU. Here is a pic of the NZXT specs:

The CPU is not outdated. I cost around $500. I am not going to spend $1000 for a CPU. Conroe isnt released yet so dont say conroe made these out of date.

Anyway, I guess it is fine to get the NXZT. TY

Stop being a putz  I suppose my 3700's are outdated to you too?

I'd go enermax, silverstone, fortran, any of the usual ones recommended here, don't like antec personally but that's just me.

That's a real bad way to look at technology, it's akin to saying a 2000 model car is out dated. 939 will be around for a couple more years regardless of how quickly am2 takes off. No reason to think it will be any different than any other socket style in history.

what pengwin wants to say is that 939 no longer has the upper glove in AMD technology...am2 is here and is here to stay ..probably 939 and ddr 1 platforms will be like 478 platforms are now......

thank you.

939 will run all old tech. Geforce 4 chip sets, etc. And since a newsocket is out upgrades will be harder and harder to get since 939 will leave and AM2 will flood the market

that is what i meant by outdated

Also AM2 CPU's are cheaper. the dual cores are gonna be cheap too

True on the cheaper part, I'm impressed with the current price wars. I just don't want someone saying my systems are crap just cause they are a few months old :D (You didn't say that, I'm just saying I don't want that to happen.)
