Why are the AM2 boards lacking various features? Only 2 PCI slots? 1 IDE adapter? 1 Ethernet adapter? No floppy? What, are the current offerings only for gamers who don't need a parallel port, etc?
I hear you, a lot of manufacturers are trying to "push the envelope" now by providing only ONE PCI slot. Right next to a graphics card slot of course, so that using the PCI slot blocks the graphics cooler.
Check out Biostar, the TForce 550 has 4 PCI slots, two x1 slots, and an x16 slot. It also has a parallel port breakout header, but aparently you'll have to find your own cable. Got any AT parts laying around?
There's also the MSI K9N SLI Platinum, with 3 PCI slots, 2 x1 slots, and 2 x16 slots. It has the parallel port soldered in place old-school. Now if they'd just put a gameport header on the thing for my breakout cable...so I could use a superior joystick...
