i have a dell dimension 4550 w 512mb of pc 2700 ddr 333 mem. would going to the 4550's limit of 1 gb give me much improvement in every day performance?the only game i play is ms flight sim 2004 and just every day internet stuff. thanks. dooofus

well ofcourse it would be a great increase in every aspect, like multi-tasking such as listneing to music while playing the game, also if you ever want to play a new game it will be better to have more ram, i wish i could have 1gb

The minimum acceptable RAM for Windows XP is 1GB.

Remember: XP loves RAM, and 1GB usually prevents it from using the swap file, thereby increasing system responsiveness quite handily.

Unless you are doing some heavy lifting, 2GB is not required.
