10GB disappears off hard disk

ok so if i go into my computer and click on my c drive then highlight everything in there it says that i have 56gb space taken up but when i click on the hard drive itself and go to properties it says 66 gb is taken up. i have hidden files shown so i dont know where this 10 gb has gone. this happed after i turned on restore points and gave it 10 gbs but i deleted that in the screen and turned it off at the same time and it is still gone?

Space reserved by Windows 7 recovery partition or allocation space created when the hdd/partition is formatted.

Go into Control Panel> Administer tools, Computer Management, disk management and see for yourself where the extra space is. Could be restore could be a number of things really, its prolly hid and you will need to assign a drive letter to it for it to appear in windows explorer. If it is some sorta of restore id leave it as is.

no it is in the main partition that it is missing from. i checked the original hard drive that i copied this one from and the recovery partitions are both 20gb

Sounds like your page files system is taking it up then.
