Hi all I'm intending to buy a graphic card and I'm choosing between two Radeon the X800GT 256mb, and the X1600Pro 512mb, can anyone advice me on the best one? :) :?:

Of those two choices, the X1600Pro IMO.

However check out the avilability and price of an X800GTO if you're looking at that region of AGP.

If you're considering PCIe there's far better options available, but for the two you picked I'd say go with the X1600P.

Whow! that's a fast answer, thank's bro, both in PCI-e, so the X1600Pro would be the best choice then! OK I'm going with the X1600Pro It is even cheaper    .

why dont you buy x850 XT. It is better than both of them and there isn't much difference between their costs. By the way x800 is better than x1600 at benchmarks

Being that it's PCIe, check out the price of the X1600XT it's worth a $20 premium, but if you're ammenable to nVidia then the GF7600GT is nice @ $150 now, and then if you prefer ATi I'd suggest checking the prices of the X1800GTO where you are.

There are lots of options, and IMO the ones you picked are a little low on the list. On NewEgg you can find the X1600XT for a great price, the GF7600GT for a great price, and the X1800GTO for an ok price. They are progressively more expensive so depends alot on your budget of course.

Anywhoo, at the very least it's worth looking into the price of the X1600XT.

It is, but for the cost the GF7600GT is a better overall choice IMO.

The plain X800 (ie R430) might be, but thethe X800GT (NOT GTO) would be about even with the X1600Pro unless you got a successful unlock. For that reason I give the feature set of the X1600P the tiping point win. The X800GTO would be clearly better but the X800GT (especially with slow memory of the 256MB) would not be as worthy.

Thank you folks, here in Brazil we don't have many affordable cards, they are about U$180 the X1600Pro (512mb) and U$280 the X800GT (256mb) both PCI-E.

actually i would get the X850XT over the 7600Gt since the 7600GT cant do HDR + AA
