I'm considering getting this motherboard and wondering if you can setup this mobo with a raid 5 six hard drive setup?

It looks like four drives is no problem...

Anybody built a six or more driveRaid 5 setup?

Thanks.

Depends on if the controller(s) are all included in the raid function, I don't feel like looking myself :)

If it's matrix raid or they are as above, then yes. I've run 16 HD Raid 5 arrays, course not with on-board controllers.

I think I'm gonna puke my pants!

According to the specs for this board on Asus' website, it looks like the answer is no. The board has eight SATA ports, but only four are connected to the Marvell controller while the other four are on the Intel controller. So one way or another, four drives is the maximum you can have in one array.

Thank you, that's what I thought.
