Hey just got a new PC and set up some symantec norton
programs and now when windows starts up I get one of the
program folders open in a windows explorer window. The
folder is not entered into start --> all programs -->
startup so I assume this is a registry error?!

I once had a similar problem in windows ME and it was easy
to fix in regedit, but I can't for the life of me work out
the windows XP version of regedit. Anyone got any ideas?!
Is this the right approach or am I braking up the wrong
tree?

Cheers

Check the link below. If it doesn't wrap correctly then copy and paste the
url to your browser address bar

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP

XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560) and "How to Perform a
