i need a little hlp in oc my cpu.my prob is that when i try to make it work at 2,2 ghz a blue screen shows up(i think it is instable) .i tried olso to incrice the cpu voltage but still..........Curently it works at 2,060 but i would like to work faster and i don't know what to do....maybe i skipped something important.pls help me out.

Did you lower the LDT to 4x. 5x with an FSB of 244x9 would give an htt speed of 1220....too high.4x would give 976. Also, is your RAM capable of running at that speed. We can help better if you list your system specs. Mobo, CPU, RAM, Cooling, Power Supply for starters. GL :)

wow that sucks.. maybe you just havent set it up right..!!! hint!!

i have a 939 venice 3000+ and it runs flawlessly at 2.75 on modified stock cooling. peaks at 49c idle at 27-30c..

i generally keep it at 2.6. and my ram is total shite!!!

if you can get a 300ddr speed set in bios set it to that and set fsb to 289.. 289x9 = 2.6 300+89 is just under ddr400 speed which migt alow for some tighter timmings on your ram.. make sure you HTL is at 3x which is 867 so its below spec but will be stable in terms of HTL speed alone.... yu could try for 4x which is like 1156, bit high but you never know.. just go for the lower one.. you'll never really see much of a performance difference.. i know i dont...

btw what m/b you got?

i got really good results witth my old board gigabyte K8NF-9 (benched on air) at 2.8... even though it has passive chipset cooling...

my current board a asus A8N-SLI which i expected to be a bit better isnt actually anybetter for clocking.. and cost about $50AU more...i cant get it to do much over 2.75-2.8.. and the heat risk isn't worth it..basically the A8N-SLI can t go very high vcore wise.. so meh...

Sorry - dumb question - where do you change the HTT to 3x? I have looked through the bios and don't seem to be able to find it. And I have updated the Bios to the latest version.

Try dropping the HTT Frequency back to 3x, or drop your RAM back to 333 or <.

If you want, try my setup with can be found in the thread "Underestimated overclocking". I had similar problems until I dropped my ram back to 266.

http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/estimated-overclocking-A8N-SLI-Config-3000-ftopict187500.html

i depistated the prob and now it works but i still need just a little hlp.The prob was the dram witch was set at 400 with the bandwidth 200 and with htt 240 result 240 much over banwidth,so i set it to 333 and now works but i would like to go to 400 again but i dont know how to set a divider (i searched all the bios)
and i would appreciate some help..........thanks

The way the multiplier works, from my understanding, is that it goes by your fsb. For instance, you have it set to 333mhz and your fsb @ 240mhz, then your ram is running at around 400mhz. So your ram should be running at full speed.

333mhz = 5/6 ratio.
5/6 of (FSB) 240mhz = 199mhz
then you multiply by 2
which gives you roughly 400mhz

So your ram should be running @ 400mhz
and your cpu @ 2160Mhz

mind telling us your full oc status? like clock, vcore, vdimm, htt

as a fellow 3000+ venice owner, i can do 2.6ghz @ 1.55vcore, 2.4ghz @ 1.4vcore, and 1.8ghz @ 1.1vcore all prime stable.

i got bored and decided to see how my cpu scaled.
