I am using Thunderbird to send my emails and it does not work in Win 7 it keeps looking for the smtp

Did you name the smtp ?

should be something like mail.optonline.net

Contact your ISP...They can tell you the names of the mail servers.

I have sorted it out . All I had to do was in the outgoing server was to type mail.isp provider and that sorted it.
