I currently am running the following system

Intel 2.8 GHz (800 MHz FSB)
1 Gb stick of DDR-333 (2.5,3,3,6)
Leadtek 6800 GT
few HDDs yada yada

My question is whether or not to upgrade to DDR 400. I have shopped around and want to upgrade to 2 Gb of Ram and have notced that with the current situation I have my FSB:DRAM ratio is 3:2 with DDR 400 I would have a ratio of 1:1 (correct me if I'm wrong). Speeding up my system.

But is it even worht the extra cash? What performance will I actually gain. If the difference is little I would buy one more sitck of ddr 333. If the performance gain will be gigantic than i will invest in the DDR 400.

Then my next question would be whch modules. I prefer shopping at newegg if you could provide links and all i would greatly appreciate it.

I am considering maybe overclocking in the future, not heavily but a little tweaking here and there so consider this is your comments please.

What are the performance gains though any becnchies? Cus I could save some cash and go one more stick of 333 vs 2 sticks of 400.

Just want something showing the performance increase from the speed vs the volume of ram.

I'm leaning toward these modules as the timings are very tight and the price is really bang for the buck.

Just want someone to show me the info as i can't find any benchies anywhere.

I don't know, but you might ask on the hardocp memory forums. cfEclipse, as I recall, is the resident expert. I think a question to ask yourself is how long are you plan on holding on to this machine.

Whichever memory you get won't be useable in your next rig.
