I ordered a laptop last week, and I get home tonight to a box from Toshiba... Inside I find a Packing list:

Expansion battery: ordered: 1 shipped: 1
Mobile backpack: ordered: 1 shipped: 1
4yr Systemguard warranty: ordered: 1 shipped: 1

Inside the box is a battery, a backpack and about 10 of those blow-up air pillows they use for packing filler...

Umm... :? Is the packing pillows supposed to be my warranty?

The laptop was custom configured, and it left Shanghai today. At least, I think it was today... UPS's tracking system is confusing as well LOL...

Now the leaving Shanghai I understand - over the international date line and all that... But I checked at about 3PM (central time) and it said it was in Anchorage already, at 4:55pm. AK time should have been about noon-1pm then...

It also says it will be delivered today... and it's on time.

Just some chuckles... Ok, I guess I'm easily amused.

That outcome exactly reflects my experience with Dell last week. [/liar]

I buy a Dell each and every time I upgrade. [/another porky]

Dell computers are competitively priced and everyone should own one. [/too much]

OK, you might want to consider cutting back just a bit on ole Mary Jane.

Either that or mix it with something else.

Dell are to computers what Coors is to beer.

You'd rate them that high????? [shrug]

Current ranking for Laptop computers:

Lenovo (IBM)
Dell (Dell will soon pass Lenovo)
HP
Toshiba

The rest..

Toshiba.. we stopped using that junk. The IBM/Lenovo laptops are loaded with so much junk they run like shit when you first get them.

The Dell Lattitudes are the best laptop I've ever used. Blows anything away aside from the higher pricing since its a business class laptop.

I use Dell at the office, but Dell doesn't offer a convertible tablet. Lenovo's latest (x60t) doesn't come with an internal DVD (but it is light...). Neither does HP. My other options were Acer, Asus, Fujitsu & Gateway. Gateway almost got my nod because of price, but at nearly 8 lbs with max batteries...

IBM servers, IBM laptops (we're probably going to switch to Dell because of Lenovo's take over of IBM's laptops). Dell Desktops.

Perhaps I was a little harsh on Dell.
