Hi,

I have a problem recently when playing Heroes of Might and Magic V. My system is AMD 3500 64, asus nforce4 SLI mobo w/ dual Galaxy 6600GT and a CoolerMaster 430W power supply.

During gameplay, I got a message from the driver saying that there is insufficient power to the card. How could this be? I dont recall that 6600GT require any external power and I don t see any power inlet at the card either.

Also, I dont overclock. Please help anyone.

Hey Darthkir,
From what I can read, you might want to take a look at your power supply.
ALWAYS remember that ESPECIALLY wehn your running SLI, the power supply must be able to give out 30 amps on the rail that gives power to the cards. If the power fluctuates even 1/2 a volt, you got trouble.

Even though your cards don't need external power, you may want to look at the power supply.

Consider this........when you want to buy a new video game.......let's use Doom 3 for example..... and you look at the computer specs to see if your rig will be able to measure up.......the specs they give are ABSOLUTE minimum to run the game with no eye candy on, but they don't tell YOU THAT......if you try to up the toys for the game.....the game will stutter, freeze, cough , choke....you get the point.

When I built my rig 4 months ago, I knew I would be going SLI eventually, plus I also knew what hardware would be inside. I went with a 600 watt Seasonic S12. And it also indicated on the box that it was "SLI" nvidia certified. Basically what that means is that it meets the power demands to run your rig AND it will also have 2... NOT 1 ... but 2 power dongles to supply power to each vid card.

So if you decide to look for a more powerful power supply, look for one that has 2 - 12 volt rails. If it does, you know that it will be able to run what you need.

Hope this helps man, good luck

hmm, 430w might be cutting it close... do you have all of your power connections made to your mobo? i have a neo480 and 6600gts in sli, with a 4400, and this psu has enough juice to oc the whole system, and remain stable.. i would look into getting a new psu.
