I wanted to spend about $1,200 on a new computer. I play lots of games and dl a lot. I have had the same desktop with only a couple modifications for 4 years so I think it is time for an upgrade. I mainly want to know if my wishlist items were compatible with eachother and if there was any other options that could work for a lower cost. Btw I have the operating system and all on this list.

Be completely honest I do not give F**k. I want to buy a computer that can keep up with all the game playing. I do not overclock but my computer is on sometimes days at a time, thus the extra fans. I will have two dvd burners. And if you could tell me how to show my list from Newegg on here I will do it if that makes it easier to read. The total came out to about $1,246.43 w/o shipping. Well thanks for your time and once again be honest; I mainly want this computer to work for starters.

I too have had my computer for over four years and am considering upgrading :)
i posted mine on this forum

First off, those 120mm fans don't fit in your case, you'll need 80mm fans

next, the $30 spent on the Thermaltake cpu cooler is not required as the 3200+ Venice comes with a very good cooler that supports up to 2.8ghz (3200+ Venice runs at 2.00ghz)

you need more graphics- i recommend the eVGA 7900 GT KO

to save $25, i recommend the Creative Audigy 2 Value

your hard drives will work

your memory will work

your optical drive will work

you psu is compatible with your mobo

Not a bad system, but that motherboard is awful. Asus makes good stuff usually, but the A8N-SLI and SLI Deluxe are horrid. The failure rate on these boards is through the roof, and other weird problems plague them. Consider another board like the DFI Lanparty Ultra D.

Also consider at least 2GB of RAM, and goign AM2. With 65nm CPUs coming in December that will drop right into AM2, there is really not a reason to go 939 at this point. The AM2 CPUs are just as cheap as 939, only the RAM will be a tad more pricey but not much.
