Isn't what AMD is doing right now? They don't need to release faster processor because NOW, they have the faster thing in the market and don' need faster thing to succeed.

I'm not fanboy, but when Intel announced Conroe, and AMD didn't release anything reallt new or exciting, then Intel fanboy was yelling that AMD was in trouble, and dying.. Now, since it is from Intel, then it is good??

AMD release version after version with 200 Mhz between FX 53, FX 55, FX 57 ... but at 3.0 they have issues. See FP bug etc They can't do more in 90nm with this architecture. Conroe is the same . At 2.66 is faster than AMD at 2.8, One step more 2.9 and you have new EE. Two mouths later one steep 3.2 and people going to get the fastest. People have seen conroe B0 at 3.5 1333 FSB on stock coling and voltage under 100w.

That is the way it works. Intel tops P4 at 4.0 2 years ago and work in new arch. The Pentium D was a dissaster after presHOT disaster way of be the fastest. They need time to get new processors working and know its around the corner. AMD have one year or more to give us new arch working and do the same as Intel: If you can't compete with one processor why not put two on par 4x4.
