Without a system spec there's no way of knowing what needs upgrading...
If you have a 32-bit OS adding more RAM will be a waste, the effectiveness of a faster HD will depend on what HD you currently have, if you have a crap MoBo or CPU upgrading RAM or HD could be a waste...

As I was reading, that was my first question.
MB/operating system. If 32 Bit Operating system 4 gigs is max - still recommend as 3 gigs is going to be single channel. Need 2 or 4 sticks to be daul channel.

How much space do you need (Operating system + program + storage). Get Ram to balance system (ie 1 x 1gig stick) then get a 7200rPM HDD. Then START Save money for new system and/or buy a SSD for operating system/Programs then use current HDD for Storage.
