I need one with the longest battery life while being able to play a game like HL1. Thanks.

You really mean Half Life 1? My calculator can run that :D

I post whenever I fell the urge to do so. And by the way; this was meant to be a joke. No need to be upset there.

Even THIS ONE will play HL1. Just buy another 512MB of RAM (for a total of 768), and format the HDD/reinstall Windows with that disk that comes with it. Pretty much any laptop will play HL1, even the ones with integrated graphics.

if u are not averse to refurbished laptops u can check out dell's refurbished site,

www.outlet.dell.com

i have bought from them myself, the laptops are great, and cheaper, they come with the same warrantee as new laptops.

I couldnt find a scratch or problem with my refurbished 9100 , works like a charm.

Laptops ar egenerally more expensive i you want to play games. Youcan't get an Intel IGP. You need at least a Radeon or GeForce Go.

Somethign like this would probably play at 800x600.

Turion

Most of the Centrinos have the Intel graphics which will get you about 10 fps.

Actually you can get a dell 9400/E1705 for approx $1000, WITH A Core Duo 1.66Ghz, 512MB, 17" screen & a 7900gs

You have to use a coupon though

www.gottadeal.com/dell.php

I'm planning on selling my 9300 to buy one :)

I dont live in the US either, but it only costs me $50 US to ship a laptop from the US to my door.

Are you sure there isnt a refurbished dell site for your region? would be suprised if there wasnt, unless dell channels all returned pc's to the US refurbished site.

You can order a good laptop from cyberpower or ibuypower in the US for reasonable prices and if you don't live in the US you can probably get a good barebone and some parts to make a good laptop for gaming.

Its not cheaper, and you wont get the parts u really want, like high end laptop GPU's

I mean sure u can buid one, but its unlikely u'll get the gaming laptop u really want.
