whats the dif between 1T and 2T for memory and how can i get th etiming down and with more agressive timing will i see a difference in speed or will it be unoticable? i have a abit kv7 mobo and it has a nice oc utility and i know how to use it and i am using it for my cpu i have just never done memory stuff ne help would bne nice

1T produced 300 points more for me on 3dmark05.

would that 300 point be noticable on game i think my computer responnds faster now that i brought it down to qt but how do i lower timings ? unless that is considered lowering timeings

Most (not all) ram runs defualt at 1T and is faster than 2T.

1T, 2T or overclocking does not produce noticeable results in games, especially in value ram.

there's not OMG!!! IT'S A BRAND NEW PC kind of diffference, but it wouldnt hurt, it's about 300Mbps+ memory write and a little bit more score on superpi and sciencemark :p

1T vs 2T Linky

Now for my question,
My ram defaults at 3-4-4-8 DDR400 I can over clock to DDR500 speeds no problem if I open it up to 2T timings. But my favourite game crashes so now I am trying tightening the timings.

2.5-3-3-8 works fine but what else could/should I try? Is 2.5-3-3-8 right? Honestly I do not understand the relationship of the ram timings. And still do not after reading on-line.

well, im honestly not sure how much of a positive difference going from 400 to 500MHz will make, especially if youre raising the timings... but as far as tighter memory settings, whats worked well for me on pc3200 memory, is 400MHz @ 2.5-3-3-5 @ 1T

Are 3-4-4-8 your default timings ir the overclocked ones???

If those are the default: DAMN!!!! those numbers are high xD try to overclock as high as you can on those, or 3-4-4-10 :p  try to tighten them to run @ 1T

If those are your OC ones: again, try to relax them a little to see if it gets stable. Other thing you can try (but I wouldnt do it) is to increase the module voltage. If everything else fails, lower the FSB and tighten the latencies as necessary

3-4-4-8 are default. These sticks are generic name brand but the chips are what a friend calls "old school ram" and should be able to top DDR500 speeds which they can.

I was playing around and found that I can lower the timings at stock speeds so I tried 2.5-3-3-8 and no problems. What next I do not know. I would rather not run my CPU at 250 but I could always lower the multiplier.

As for the 1T and 2T, I seem to have issues keeping 1T with an FSB over 200 regardless of the ram. I have an MSI K8N NEO2 board and have been looking into why.
