Installing a second SATA drive - performance impact ?

Hopefully I am not asking something that has been answered multiple times...
Anyway, I currently have a SATA Maxtor diamondmax 9 160Gb 7200RPM (I think that's the name & specs) & plan to add a WD Raptor 150GB 10000RPM.
Is there going to be an impact to the speed of the Raptor from having both drives in the system ? If so, anything specific that I need to do to prevent that ?
Thanks for any help,

  1. As long as it's on a seperate channel, hell even if it isn't, you shouldn't notice a problem, nvidia controllers are all independent channels I believe while most sil chipsets have 2 connectors per channel, that may vary by model. Check with the mb manufacturer or GOOGLE IT to find out for sure.
