Hey guys, I am thinking of getting an X2 3800+ and saw somewhere that someone got it up to 2.6-2.9 GHz where as stock is 2 GHz, can anyone validate the oc'ing ability of this chip?

If your gaming why not get the 3800+ single core. I'm sure you can overclock that one more. It will do far better if your gaming. Anyone have any results from OC with 939 or AM2 3800+ single core.

I do alot of gaming yes... I have a 64 3200+ oc'ed to 2.3 GHz right now, but I also do alot of video ripping and dvd burning, so I figure the dual core will help out alot there, and wont be any slower than my current cpu, and will be more furture proof as more and more games go to multi-threads
