The USB disconnect will keep playing, and then a BSOD will occur.

Every now and then, my desktop will start frequently playing the usb disconnect sound, and then after about 5 minutes of this, a BSOD will occur.
I have spent months searching the internet for a solution, only to find that all of them are about completely different problems.
If this would be any extra help, my desktop was originally a HP Elite, that I souped up with a GTX 460, a corsair 50watt powersupply and 4gb of RAM.
I have tried opening it up and checking everything is connected correctly, but I can't seem to find any problems.
