ActiveSync Won't Load Downloads?

When I try to install programs on my PC... in the past it would ask
Activesync to load in the default location.
Now for several days it says that the installation could not complete
because of the following error message:
"Activesync not found on this computer. Setup cannot continue and will now
exit"
I have WM 2003 SE on an Axim X30 High.
What the hell happened?????
I am sure I am missing something or a setting I messed up.
Please help.

Yes, I have ZoneAlarm and Activesync has permissions set to access.
Never was an issue before last week.
I have had a firewall for months now.
