Chris,
This is what you need to do to start a flight with everything turned
off. First, create a flight with the aircraft at the airport of your choise.
Once the flight begins, your aircraft should be at the airport of your
choice, sitting on the runway and ready for takeoff. Now, turn the engines
off, turn all of the electrical switches off, and basically set up the
cockpit and instrument panel for how you would like it. This includes the
seat height, throttle and lever positions, switch positions, instrument
panel layout, etc. Then with the slew key (Y) slew the aircraft to the
parking area or gate of your choice and point it in whatever direction that
you want it to face when the flight begins. Now take the aircraft out of
slew mode (press "Y" again). Then you can set your weather, date, time of
day/night. Once
EVERYTHING is set up the way that you want it to be when the flight begins,
save the flight. You can save a flight by selecting the "Flights" drop-down
menu, and then select "Save Flight". Give the flight a title that will be
easy for you to remember, and type in a description that describes what the
flight is all about. Also be sure to check the box that says "Make this the
default flight".
Once that flight has been saved, you can then go to "Select a flight" in
the main FS2004 menu, and it should put you in the cockpit with everything
set the way that it was saved. From then on, instead of creating a flight
like this every time, simply select this flight and you should start in a
cold and dark cockpit, with everything set the way that you want it. If you
decide that you want to change something in the way that the flight starts,
no problem. Just change whatever you want, and save the flight again, using
the same title. Hope this helps...
