Twin needle carb settings

What's the starting point for the second needle in a twin needle carb (the
screw-in)? Same as the main needle-approx 1-2 turns? My old engine has been
stripped and cleaned, and the carb settings somehow got altered. Now I can't
get a nice pick up when throttling up.

Maybe not... around here we would throttle to 50% then lean the mixture till
it runs rough, then back off peak of lean.

Ah, but you have the luxury of being able to do your adjusting as
required-we have to do it on the ground and hope we got it right!!!!
