Hey all, I am making a new computer (more of an upgrade really) and need some advice.
Here are my ideas so far:

Intel Pentium D 805 overclocked to around 3.8 Ghz
Asus® P5WD2-E PREMIUM (for conroe support later if I need an upgrade)
OCZ 1Gb PC6400 DDR2 EL Dual Channel Gold Gamer eXtreme XTC
Asus® Extreme EN7600GT/2DHT
Enermax EG565P-VE FMA 535W ATX 12V Ver 2.0 All in One Series Power Supply

Should I really get the x975 mobo for the conroe just in case, or get a cheaper one and have no back up?
Which video card has the best bang/buck in my price range $200-250?
Do I need more ram, better power supply?

Thanks for the help in advance :)

not sure if the P5WD2-E Premium supports Conroe or not..... although i'm kinda betting that it won't. If you want a board with confirmed Conroe support, get either revision 304 of the Intel D975XBX, or another board based on one of the i965 chipsets.

If your going the 805 route then expect to pay at least another $50 for a good aftermarket cooler, and dont expect 3.8. Its possible but dont get your hopes up.
7600Gt is the best bang for the buck right now in my opinion. Everthing else looks good. Not sure about the cornrow support.

I'm Canadian so newegg and zipzoom fly aren't an option :(

I was under the impression that the x975 chipsets were the only option for the conroe right now from the article here on the upcoming motherboards.....

If not what boards do right now, and would still be a solid OC'ing platform?

I've got a Zalman 9500 on the way too and I think I'll go with the 7600gt.

I have about a $1000-1200 budget and I need a case too...
