That's what happens when you use Intel processors, specifically the core duo which is well known to have the USB bug issue which I guessed caused the laptop to overheat and burn into flames.

Leave it to 9-inch to place bogus posts and comments full of missing information from his own articles and cause such posts to generate negative comments about him which says alot about his hot air.

Where can I get a USB-powered bomb peripheral? I've got a Core Duo and nothing phases it. It is da bomb, but it won't blow no matter how hard I push it, thus my request. Link please.

Hows Dells quality a shame?

It's really kinda scary to know that your "Core-Duo" notebook will burst into flames just for sake of that d@mn USB bug (d@mn you intel). I wouldn't leave such a risky machine in the hands of any of my friends or relatives.

Shame on you Dell for using "time-bombs" in your notebooks. :x

Seriously, shut up when you don't know what you're talking about. If you had read all of this article instead of just part of it and then formed your own "facts", you wouldn't have made yourself look like such an ass.

They explode not because USB bugg, they explode because overheating of faulty batteries.

REALLY?????
Can you bet your balls on this one??

http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/05/19/microsoft_releases_patch_for_power_drain_bug/

this article says "Microsoft power drain bug fix may only benefit Core Duo notebooks", which means it's not limited to intel notebooks.

http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/06/09/evaluation_microsoft_power_drain_patch

also this article tests notebooks with microsoft's patch uninstalled and then installed. the bug specifically affects notebooks with usb 2.0. it does, however, point out that it affects "core" notebooks more than anything. nonetheless, it's more of an MS problem than anything.

and this thread was supposed to be a joke.

The USB power bug is a lot bigger in dual core processors. This is the reason why we see it in Core Duo but there is other way to see it. If you have one Pentium 4 laptop and you enable HT you can see more power consuption.

Poorion X2 will have the same problem. I test one A64 X2 alienware and have the bug.
Intel are asking Mocosoft to solve the problem before launch Core, years before.

But this topic was about the crap Dell Laptops or not?

See the sun advertisement. Why dell employes buy IBM laptops?
