How does one decide to go with eVGA instead of PNY, or GeForce, etc? Is it just price? How does this industry work? Do the companies make their own cards and the only thing that's the same is the chip? Is the memory the same from the various companies? How does this industry work? And how about ATI? Is it the same with their chips as Nvidia?

Thanks!!

Let's take a 7900GT for example from nVidia's side. eVGA and PNY, and all companies, make same card basically. Some companies, like XFX, overclock their cards. Warranties are also different. Those companies just put the card together, and package it in their own box. Same with ATI?

Let's take X1800XT for example from ATI's side. Sapphire, and HIS, and all companies make same card. There aren't overclock ATI cards from stock (that I've seen). Warranties are different.

Also, the contents of the package also count. Some have extra software, like games.

Im gonna go with fagaru on this one, evga and xfx are highly rated and reviewed on video cards, and how they are specially overclocked and dont burn out. Plus, i find the techincal support at xfx very nice as well. And both companies warranties are great.
