Surround Sound in Games

I recently upgraded to an Audigy 2Z and a set of Altec 5.1 speakers. But how do you set up surround sound in games? I am currently messing with Halo but there is no surround sound option in the game setup.

What am i missing or what else do I need to do. Thanks

Do you have the 5.1 option picked in the soundblaster control panel?

Yes, its set for 5.1.

Halo might not support surrond sound, try a newer game like quake 4 and enable the openAL mode(make sure you have the correct drivers installed), the option for the older games should be EAX, also make sure you are not using software drivers.
