NEED HELP WITH 320GB HARD DRIVE

i recently purchase a seagate 320GB hard drive and window is only reading 198GB....my Bios is upgraded and am using windows xp sp2
i also got the lba 48-Bit Support for ATAPI Disk Drives
nothing his working can anybody tell what to do

?Did YOU format/partition the drive yourself???
Sometimes Seagate hdd's come with installation tools in a smaller partition,take a look at the drive with fdisk option 4 ??show partition info....

After you format that is about how much actual free space you'll have. I have a 320gig also. once formatted i got around 298gb..

Yes 298 is right on for a 320, but he said 198. Unless that's a typo. If it's actually seeing 298, your in business.
