will DDR 800 be a 'noticeable ' improvement?

I need a new PC cause I'm sick of mine locking up. Does it daily while dual boxing at my MMORPG game.

I was set to get AMD3800+ x2, Epox EP-9NPA+ultra, OCZ platinum 2gig

Now I'm considering AMD 3800+x2 AM2, Asus M2N-E, Kingston HyperX 2gig

but, I've been reading about memory trouble with the new boards. Is DDR2 going to be a noticeable improvement, or should I just stick with an older, proven setup (1st one above)?

also, have there ever been any problems reported using a Ati video card with a nVidia nForce4 ultra board?

I would wait for the expected price drop on dual cores in about 4 weeks. I waited a whole year to get a socket 939. Waiting 4 weeks could save you over $100. I would go with am2 and ddr2, but more research is needed for the board. Most of the reviews I've seen have been with only 2 or 3 boards. And if you can find a conroe for around $300 in a month or so, better grab it fast. It should hold it's value for awhile. I'll bet the bidding will be high on ebay.
