Thanks for your suggestions prozac26, Have Re-optimized! What else ya got!

Mojo~ :D

805 overclocking builds are pointless and way overdone. Do yourself a favour and get the vastly superior D 930 which isn't much more money. It can still overclock , but does not completely suck at stock like the 805 does. You also pick up more L2 cache, a non crippled FSB, and other features.

Looks like a nice machine. From bitter experience, good power supply, decent mobo manufacturer (Asus, Tyan, Intel are my favorites), good chipset designer (Intel, Nvida are my faves), and good quality memory are the easy things to go wrong on. You seem to have covered those bases solidly.

A few thoughts then on other matters:

1. Why 160 GB Seagate drives? The sweet spot (at least where I live) for price/performance is the Seagate 7200.10 320 GB drives with them clocking in around $100-$110 US. Maybe you're happier with a lower platter count but more money per GB (that's cool, literally as well as figuratively), or maybe you don't think you'll need 640 GB (as opposed to 320). Also cool.

2. Sony 3.5" Floppy. I admit, I'm not a huge fan of Sony, and I believe their quality has declined in recent years. That said, you might also wish to pick up a drive that has a built in card reader. (9-in-1 or 11-in-1). I've also not bothered even putting on a floppy drive in the last few machines I've made. Booting from CD/DVD works fine for recovery, and USB keys work nicely for sneakernet.

3. Sony DVD-ROM. Do you need this? I actually found I almost never use my second DVD ROM, and since you appear to have them both sitting on a single ATAPI bus, I think you might find slave performance poor if you were trying to run both flat out. YMMV, of course.

4. Samsung burner. Do you really want Lightscribe? DVD-RAM writing? If so, this seems decent as a choice. Personally, I'm a big fan of the NEC-3550A (marginally cheaper) as being incredibly robust at coping with all kinds of media. If you want the Rolls-Royce of burners, consider a Plextor-716, though it's $100 more. Also, keep in mind you may well need to blow about $20++ for DVD burning/playing software or *cough* use DVD-Decryptor.

Enjoy your machine!

ok great! nixed the floppy and the dvd-rom....Can always slap in later anyhow. But keeping the samsung...its highly reviewed and rated.

2 seagates for budget:) and they should be fast. I assume i can run them in raid 0.

Motherboard i was not sure about. But the one i chose seems to be about the best rated for the 775 series.
