I got this NIC called 3C589D from 3Com and it´s originally intended for use on a laptop but now I want to use it on my desktop system using an adapter from V.Dot.
I think the adapter is working because it makes sounds when I turn it on. But Win ME won´t recognize the NIC.
Any solutions?

Why not just buy a cheap pci 10/100 NIC instead? D-Link or Linksys provide some very good prices alternatives.

I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

Problem is we should not waste money and the PCMCIA adaptor for the desktop could be useful to share devices between the laptop and the desktop. Furthermore, a 3com or Intel network card cost an a whole lot.
