I think he means a plain jane no-DVD crack, which many people who legally own the game also use (myself included as I prefer to not need disks). No this is nothing to do with Windows 7.

I use cracks for all my games, just because I am annoyed that companies still think that making consumers reliant on objects that can be lost is a good thing.

but, this does seem to be a "how to pirate" thread, as he said without buying the CD
