I just really want to make sure that I will be compatible with everything and that The PSU is high enought o power the geforce 7900 series. Also I think that 1gb ram will cover it for now and later I will put in another 1gb think. Also should I get a cheap sound card?

Nice system. My question would be though how often do you upgrade? If you want to go dual core in December when 65nm CPUs are released or quad core next year with only a CPU change, go AM2.

I concur whole heartedly OR get a dual core 939 next month when the price drops 50%

Agreed. Dont waste money on 939 and ddr400, you wont be able to upgrade later and you wont be able to use the ram either.

I just want a gaming computer that is going to last for a good while. I will also prolly upgrade here and there. It is interesting to wait though. I am working for the summer and will prolly buy the system in August so I just might go dual core. I hardly upgrade and to have a system that is 2 years behind is fine. I mean I use my computer lots and I currently have 2.0 cpu and I would like to go higher but the prices are a bit steap for my budget.

bottomline, upgrade your CPU, it seems a bit low for the rest of the parts your using on the rest of your build, i suggest for single core, a 3700, 3800 or 4000, for dualcore, 3800,4200 or 4400
