HP DeskJet 600 randomly stops printing and turns off

Hello,

it is really a weird situation: When I turn on my printer it takes
minutes or hours until it turns off. I don't see any regularity...
Even while printing, when it wants to turn off, the printer kicks the
(unfinished) paper out and turns off.

Usually the power LED is blinking like this:
.....llll....llll....llll [...]
But when the printer wants to turn off, it goes like this:
.....l.......l.......l... [...]

I think this behaviour starts after I have used the "HP cleaning kit"
Does the software load new firmware into my printer?

I have double checked the cable connection to the pc and the power
supply.

Has anyone ever seen such behaviour? Or know a solution? Any advice
would be helpful...
