Hey Everyone

I am new to these forums and this computer is my first build, so please excuse this problem if it seems trivial.

Problem: I originally built my computer with 1Gig RAM. Recently I purchased another, identical gig for my computer (Corsair XMS 3200 CMX 2X512). However when both gigs are inserted, my computer will not start. I assume this is a BIOS problem?
I checked and all of the sticks of RAM are operable, and none of the slots are damaged either (by putting one in at a time, etc).

please help!

eric

Looks like your board doesn't automatically reduce the ram speed to 333mhz. You can't run 4 double-sided sticks at 400mhz 1T on any of the athlon 64 cores.
Venice and San Diego cores can run 4 double-sided sticks at 400mhz 2T, previous cores can't run these at 400mhz at all.
Try this:
Put in one pair of the ram, enter bios, set the command rate to 2T and ddr speed to 333mhz. Then we can adjust the speed from there.

I went into my BIOS. BIOS is automatically set at 333Mhz anyhow. Any other ideas out there?

Are the sticks in dimm_a1 and dimm_b1?
