We've all seen it: articles about how disappointing the products and behavior of big-name electronics and PC giants have been recently. From the Sony rootkit scandal to MS's IE7 and controversies surrounding Vista's EULA, more and more pundits are making thier money by reporting on the mistakes and misdeeds of these moguls. So how many years in a row do you think big companies can afford to screw up and fail to live up to expectations before their enormous well of money dries up and they find themselves eatting up a big piece of humble pie?

How long has Ford, GM, and Chrysler been losing market share? 30 or so years? Microsoft isn't far behind

Reply to g-paw

Yet, Chrysler was bought out, GM had that accounting snaffu and subsequent layoffs, and Ford trades at dirt cheap by comparison.

Is it me, or do the big technology companies seem to be able to get away with more and lose less? I guess that's what happens when you're in a quasi-monopoly market.

We need some foreign competition to shape these MS clowns up. And, in the case of Sony, some domestic competition :p

30 years after starting the screwups...

Now that tech companies are mature, revist your thought in another 25-30 years.

Mike.

Thanking myself would be self gratification. Something more likely to be practiced by a tosser like yourself..

One should always be proud of his or her accomplishments...
As for a tosser... My thoughts are it is always better to pitch then catch...

BTW: I don't want any bad blood between us.. If anything i would much rather join your cause of insulting those that deserve (or don't deserve) it.

Apple fcuked up for about 5 years, after stevie j left and john sculley took over. It wasnt until Gil Amelio took over as CEO that apple got back on track.

Insulting people goes beyond national borders, transcending cultural differences, to bring the masses together in a never-ending state of peace and joy.
