I seem to remember that one or more of the scanning pens had the ability
to transfer scanned text via IR, but it's been a long time since this
has been discussed here.
In my case (which I don't need that ofter,) I have "devolved" to using a
digital camera to take snaps of text, then allow FineReader to ocr the
image when I get back to the desktop. If the camera card is readable in
the PPC, you then have the ability to both view the image on the ppc and
to email it.

Check at staples and stores like that. There is a hand scanner
available for the ppc. Also check ads in Pocket PC Magazine.
