Hi. I've been watching the Pentium D 805 processor carefully since I first read the article about it in THG... but here in my country there's no such motherboard as the ones used in the article. However, I've found a very similar one for this purpose, AsRock 775i65GV. What I'm not sure about, and I'd like to be completely sure before buying anything, is of the unlocked FSB/CPU multiplier. In the mobo manual it says it's "possible" that the multiplier is unlocked... what does "possible" mean here? Is it just processor related, and should it work with D 805?

Please note that I'd just like to decrease the multiplier, not increase it... at least to 15x, so I can set the FSB to 200MHz and get 3.0 MHz, and DDR timings low.

TIA! el gordo

The 805's multiplier is completely locked. Some Intel CPUs with EIST will let you lower it to 14. That 2.8GHz with the 800MHz chips so no point in that with a 2.66GHz chip. No EIST for the 805.
